direct vs indirect object pronouns
DO pronouns: lo/la/los/las (the thing affected). IO pronouns: le/les (the recipient). When stacked, IO precedes DO; le/les becomes 'se' before lo/la/los/las.
Examples
Le doy el libro → ___ doy.
→ Se lo
le + lo → se lo
___ veo (a María).
→ La
DO feminine → la
___ hablé (a él).
→ Le
IO → le, regardless of gender
